Q. Does Emu Oil contain natural sun block capability?
A. Emu Oil exhibits a natural SPF factor, though it is not intended
as a sun block alone, since it only has about an SPF level of 5.
It is an excellent moisturizer and superb protector against drying
elements. Emu Oil is rich in naturally occurring Vitamin E (a powerful
antioxidant and healing agent) and Vitamin A (a known skin repairer),
terpines (an antiseptic), sapogens (a skin softener), and oleic
acid and linolenic acid(skin cell generator and preserver). It also
contains Omega 3, Omega 6 and Omega 9 oils.
Q. Are Emu Oils consistent?
A. Not all Emu oils are consistent, due to their rendering methods,
and some oils may tend toward rancidity or may have high peroxide
levels. Facet's Emu Oil, purchased directly from Australia is FOOD
Grade quality. At room temperature, Emu Oil is a semi-solid of three
parts, and this allows Emu oil to be absorbed easily into the skin,
carrying with it the healing benefits, not leaving a sticky residue.
A number of studies are currently being conducted throughout the
world into the many facets of Emu Oil, including composition, benefits,
applications in different industries and the resulting properties
of compounds formulated with the oil.
Q. Is Emu Oil transdermal?
A. Emu oil is transdermal. It delivers through muscle and tissue
to the blood vessels. It metabolizes in the brain.
Q. Does Emu Oil really diminish scars from sutures
and other scarring?
A. Emu oil has demonstrated scar reduction and anti-inflammatory
properties. It is sterile and can be used in an open area of the
skin. Excellent for burns and sunburn.
Q. Does Emu Oil also protect against acne?
A. Yes, it speeds healing and reduces irritation in eczema, acne
and keloids and has advantages in skin grafting.
